Auricular Medicine

AURICULAR MEDICINE

also known as auricular therapy (ear acupuncture) is a form of alternative medicine based on the idea that the ear is a micro-system, meaning that the entire body is represented on the auricle. Ancient Chinese physicians stimulated the ear to prevent and treat not only diseases of the ear, but also diseases in other parts of the entire body. All these ancient recorded descriptions and practices became modern basis for all later development in Auricular Therapy.
In the 1950s, auricular reatment reached a higher level with the theory of “Reversed Embryo,” as proposed by a French Doctor, Dr. Paul Nogier. Auricular Diagnosis came into being during the late 1980s and early 1990s. During this period, researchers and practitioners of auricular treatment eventually realized that Auricular Practices were not only valuable in treatment, but also led to valuable tools for diagnosis. Dr. Li Chun Huang O.M.D. is the leading researcher in auricular diagnosis. She has suggested many successful detection techniques and routines using auricular diagnosis. Dr. Mike is one of a few Acupuncturists in the United States who has finished the Master of Auricular Medicine program under Dr. Li Chun Huang.
Auricular Medicine is a system of diagnosis and treatment that has been practiced by the Chinese for centuries. Its earliest uses were for the improvement of vision among warriors and sailors and the management of sciatic pain in individuals. Medical science eventually took notice of the method when others went so far as to cauterize the ears to treat pain in other parts of the body.
Today, clinical studies and actual observations can attest to the effectiveness of Auricular Medicine as an alternative to prescription drugs and medicine. Auricular Medicine is used both as a diagnostic method to determine sources of disorders as well as a treatment method by applying pressure on appropriate points of the ear that correspond to specific organs or systems of the body. Universities in the United States, Germany, and France have found that Auricular Medicine is useful for pain (acute and chronic), stress conditions, gynecological conditions, gastric disorders, neurological disorders, neuralgia, and circulatory disorders. Most of these indications have become well established through recognition by the World Health Organization (W.H.O.). There are only a handful of selected practitioners in the Orlando Centroplex that are qualified and able to apply this specialized form of medicine. Uses of Auricular Medicine
